Auditions for each Camerata season are held by appointment at the Midland Center for the Arts. Generally, Dr. Travis hears auditions in January for the upcoming season, or ad hoc for unique performances. Click the button below or contact the Center to arrange an audition.

Singers should prepare one a capella selection best illustrating their voice, and will be expected to perform some tonal memory exercises and to sight-read music.

Ideal candidates have significant experience singing in a chamber choir capable of a large variety of music in a single performance. Knowledge of foreign languages is helpful, but not required.

Camerata rehearsals are fast-paced and held Monday or Tuesday evenings from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Midland Center for the Arts April through June, and then periodically as needed before a concert date.

Camerata typically performs six to eight concerts per season, primarily in mid-Michigan, but occasionally elsewhere in the state.
